Arrow
There are many types available for all budgets and skill levels, and selecting the right one is an important factor in your success and enjoyment. If hunting you’ll want an arrow that is has weight and speed, but for the range you will want one with multiple uses.
Cheaper arrows are generally made of aluminium and are a good place to start out, they can range from $10-$15 an arrow.
Carbon or carbon blend (with aluminium) arrows are more advanced, they are much lighter with a smaller diameter so travels faster and covers more distance. Prices for these can range from $15-$30 an arrow.
You will also need to find out what length of arrow you need, this is important for safety as you don’t want to pull the arrow past the arrow rest of the bow, but you also don’t want too much of the arrow at the front of the bow as this will lead to poor accuracy.
Once you’ve found a length that suits you, you will need to find out what spine rating it needs to be. Spine ratings are an indication of stiffness, for you this means how much power you will need to propel the arrow out of the bow in a straight line. If you get the wrong spine rating you will get a bad arrow flight and arrow drift.
