Bike
This is determined by the type of riding you want to be doing, so if you are doing BMX Racing (bicycle motocross) look for that type of bike in particular.
It should have a kickstand, chain guard, fenders and reflector brackets removed if it was manufactured with it. Padding should be on the frame’s top tube, steam and handlebar crossbar, and ensure there is at least one working brake.
The Frame - Lightweight and sturdy, bout ½ the weight of freestyle or jump bikes. Made of aluminium there are different frames available to accommodate all riders sizes. A lightweight bike is important but note the lighter it is the greater the cost
Wheels and Tires - Most bikes have a 20-inch wheel diameter, and again for racing the wheels are lighter than that of freestyle and jump. The tread on BMX tires is best for speed and traction, 32-spoke aluminium.
Handlebars - These are upright with crossbars, small saddles, long cranks and rear handbrakes. For safety ensure that the handlebar grips fully cover all metal on the handle bar ends.
Brakes - Rear brake only, a linear pull brake offers you the ultimate stopping power
