Clothing

Socks should be thick and absorbent to absorb sweat.
Generally tennis outfits are white because they reflect the sun and keep the player cooler, it is bets to wear what you find comfortable while playing tight or loose.

There is a lot of clothing designed for tennis players available, the designs take into account the need for flexibility and movement, heat and comfort.

Here are some examples of what to wear while playing tennis:
•    Headgear - visors, hat or headband, essential when playing outdoors in the sun and the heat, improves visibility. Look for light weight, made with mesh, all head gear needs to be soft and easily adjustable. Headgear helps also keep hair and sweat out of the face
•    Top - this needs to be loose but not big, you need full freedom of movement, look for fabrics that draw sweat away keeping you cooler, some clubs may require you to wear white and have a shirt with a collar. For women some tennis tops come with built in bras but they often do not offer the same amount of support as a sports bra.
•    Skirts/Dresses - fairly standard tennis clothing for women, there a many different styles to choose from these days from pleated skirts, stretchy skirts, skirts with built in shorts and more. The only thing is to make sure you can move well in them and take long strides
•    Shorts - standard for men but some women prefer to wear them too, make sure you can move in them and that the material draws sweat away to keep you cool. Make sure the waist band is lined and seams rubbing against the skin will be annoying
•    Socks - make sure they fit correctly and stay in place, as socks that slip into your shoes will affect your game. Look for material that will keep your feet dry and cushion your soles
•    Track-suit - important for keeping a good body temperature in between sets and before and after a game
