David Tua v Shane Cameron - The Fight of the Century
Duco Events presents a landmark heavyweight bout between David Tua and Shane Cameron, will now be held at Mystery Creek on October 3rd 2009.

Billed as New Zealand’s ‘Fight of the Century’ this epic event will feature two of the country’s top boxers.

David Tua, who fought for the world heavyweight title in 2000, still jointly holds the world record for the most punches thrown in a heavyweight bout and has been named by boxing’s Bible, Ring Magazine, as the 48th most powerful puncher in the history of boxing.
Shane Cameron, an outstanding talent, is renowned for his courage and ranked sixth in the world by the WBO.

Duco Events has secured Shane 'CHOPPA' Chapman vs Soulan Pownceby for a Light Heavyweight bout and Robert Berrich vs Harry Venka for a Middleweight bout.

Bonnie Pointer of the famed ‘Pointer Sisters’, who sang at the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali in 1974, will take the stage at the ‘Fight of the Century’.

Colonel Bob Sheridan, arguably the world’s leading boxing commentator will travel from Las Vegas to call the fights.

‘Once Were Warriors’ star Temuera Morrison will MC the evening.

Further entertainment acts and undercard fighters will be announced in the coming months.

Tickets will be available June 12th from Ticketek.

Promoter David Higgins of Duco Events warned that tickets, priced between $69 and $399, were limited to 4,000 and punters should get in quick to avoid disappointment.

He says at least 1000 tickets will be priced between $69 and $99

I went to the website the other day and they said tickets were on sale, but I think they are only corporate seating, no general admission - I just want to know how much GA is going to be, does anyone know?

I had read somewhere that Blue and Green general admissions were $69.00 and $99.00 so the little people could afford to go and see this (to be) big event but these were limited to 1000 and Visa holders could purchase 4 days before anyone else could at midnight on the 12th of June so my pick you wont find any left but the expensive tickets and the ones on trademe that the ticket jackers who bought in bulk will be selling at a nice profit! Lets just hope that the nice people at Nzsport.co.nz will have a random competition and the lucky winners will receive tickets to the Big event!!! How about that?

Damn Sky!!! two national sporting figures and yet we have to pay to watch them?!?!? wouldn't you have thought advertising would have paid the bills?? well maybe not! here's a cut from the big wide web and sorry its not good news but hopes are high for a showing soon after the fight on good old You Tube....

Duco Director David Higgins confirmed that the event retains the enthusiastic backing of Hamilton City.

"Moving the bout to Mystery Creek has the advantage for us of taking the weather out of play," Mr Higgins said. "We no longer need to spend a six figure sum sheltering the ring and the comfort of both the fighters and the patrons can be unreservedly guaranteed.

"Mystery Creek will be dressed to impress. We intend to keep our promise that this event will be a Las Vegas-style show business extravaganza - showbiz with an epic fight as its focal point.

"At Mystery Creek we can fit 320 ringside tables under one roof, plus up to 4,800 general grandstand seats. All the tables are positioned between 2 metres and just 30 metres from the ring, subject to price. Every seat in this venue will have a premium view of live Tua-Cameron action.

"Giant screens will be placed on all four sides above the ring as well as throughout the venue. So, those lucky enough to be at the event will be up close and personal to 7 hours of live entertainment featuring 2 celebrity undercard bouts and 3 professional undercard bouts as well as the Fight of the Century," Mr Higgins said.

Mr Higgins also confirmed that the recent operation to Shane Cameron's hand has been 100% successful. Cameron's doctors expect that he will be completely recovered in July, so the postponement gives the fighter more than two months of intense training before the big fight on October 3rd.

The event promoters have concluded negotiations with New Zealand's premiere sports broadcaster Sky TV and announce that Sky will be the official broadcaster of the Tua vs Cameron contest.

"Sky TV are on a roll, having just won the role of host broadcaster for the 2011 Rugby World Cup," said David Higgins. "We see them as great partners. Their expertise and experience, backed by the million dollar promotional campaign they are planning, signal that that this will be a landmark pay per view television event."

The entire event will be available to home pay per view buyers for $39.95. THERE ARE NO PLANS TO BROADCAST THE EVENT ON FREE TO AIR, so the only opportunity to catch the fight away from the Mystery Creek venue will be on Sky Pay Per view

so basically even if you have sky you need to pay EXTRA to see the fight, this seems odd and wrong, they are doing so much publicity for an event that most people won't even be able to watch now, I don't see the point

Tua just owned Cameron and he made it look so easy, If only he could have done that with Lewis! Tua deserved to win that fight but sad to see the warrior on the floor also.

Swinging a Abounding Golf Club
One of the best accessible ones you can conveyance in the winter is accepted an abounding golf club in your “heated” garage. If you don’t accept an abounding golf club, I would acclaim you get a golf beat weight you can admit appropriate on the shaft of any club you have, and it’s like a abounding donut that baseball players beat on their bats. When you beat this club, you should actualize a routine, and not aloof beat it for the heck of it. www.golfwholesale18.com What I beggarly by accepted is say… 3 times per ishiner, you’re activity to beat it an absolute of 50 times per session. What I would acclaim is 10 actual apathetic swings to balmy up. Again addition 10 at 50%, architecture up to the third set of 10 at abounding speeds; again here’s area you can access golf beat speed. The abutting 10 swings will be at 110% effort, but beneath control. This is accepted at a acceleration you would not do on the course, but off the advance you are training your fast beat anatomy to beat faster. The aftermost 10 swings are at 50%. Treat it like a air-conditioned down.
