Helmet
All batters in fast pitch are required to wear helmets, helmets are optional for adults in slow pitch but mandatory for youth in all cases.
Helmets have 2 ear flaps and a protective cage, cages are required for most age levels except the youngest. The cage prevents the ball from hitting the batter’s face.
In fast pitch the catcher must wear a protective helmet with a facemask and throat protector. In slow pitch the catcher must wear a helmet and mask at youth level.
