Shafts
Come in a variety of forms:
- Plastic - cheap and break fairly easily, good to use until you start being able to throw tight groups
- Composite - the Alamo or Quiver have plastic bases that thread into the dart and have aluminium or other metal alloy tops to help the flight, durable shafts which won’t vibrate loose.
- Solid Aluminium - more rigid and durable than plastic and composite, can vibrate loose on heavy darts (stop this with a rubber o-ring lock), will bend instead of breaking when hit.
- Spinning - don’t improve the flight but allow tighter groups by letting the flights align with each other, they will reduce torn flights.
