Bowls

Each manufacturer produces a range of bowls unique to them, and each type of bowl within a range has a very different characteristic and an individual “bowl line”. Lawn bowls are “biased” causing them to travel in a parabola, some narrower or wider than others, some even and some with distinct hooks at the end of their travels.
There is also size and weight to consider, bowls range from size 00 to size 7, and the correct size is one that is correct for your hand. It’s important that it fits snugly within the palm of your hand using your preferred grip, and can be medium or heavy in weight and regular or slim in their diameter.
Bowling indoors is completely different form outdoors and requires different ball characteristics, as the artificial surface can be much faster and more prone to bias.
