LACROSSE GEAR

Lacrosse Stick

Stick

The basic lacrosse stick is made up of 3 parts: the handle (shaft), the hard plastic head and the net pocket (mesh). In terms of size, length and shape, the stick varies according to the player’s position, and men’s and women’s sticks are slightly different.

Lacrosse stick regulations say the overall length is 40-42 inches for attackers and 52-72 inches for defenders. Attackers are more focused on speed and mobility so they need a smaller stick, defenders need the longer stick because they are try to prevent the advances of the other team and need reach. Mid-field players generally use a medium length stick so they can switch between the rules.
Goalies have a longer stick and a larger pocket to give better blocking and defence.
The head of a lacrosse stick is between 6.5-10 inches wide but the goalies is between 10-12 inches wide.
